To reverse the publish you just made, click Undo: the previous version goes live again straight away. To go further back, open Settings › History, find the version you want and click Restore.
Dotsy saves every publish as a version, so you can always get back to a site that worked. Free keeps 7 days of versions you can restore; Core and up keep 30 days. (What's new in version history)
Undo the publish you just made
- Right after you publish, click Undo in the confirmation.
- The previous version is live again. You'll see Undone. Your site is back to how it was.
- Your undone changes are kept as unpublished changes, so you can fix them and publish again. On sites where saves go live straight away (no staging), you get Redo instead.
Undo works on every plan. If a page was edited again after that publish, Dotsy leaves that page as it is and undoes the rest.
Restore an older version
- Open your site and go to Settings › History. Each row shows when it was published, by whom (a person, an AI agent or an API key) and how many pages changed. Live now marks the current version.
- Click Show details on a version to see which pages it changed.
- Click Restore. Dotsy checks what will change and shows you before anything happens.
- If you have unpublished changes on those pages, choose Publish my changes first or Replace my changes.
- Confirm. With staging (Core and up), the restored pages arrive as drafts: check them, then publish. Without staging, the restore goes live at once (Restore and publish).
Restore just one page
On Core and up, use Restore page to bring back one page as it was, without changing the rest of the site.
Undo one specific change
To reverse a single edit rather than a whole publish (for example one change an AI agent made), open Settings › Activity, open the change to see its diff, and click Revert change. The old version comes back as a draft and never overwrites a later edit.
What does restoring bring back?
Page content: text, sections, layouts and shared sections. Page addresses, menus, images and site settings stay as they are now.
FAQ
I can't restore a version from last month.
On Free you can restore versions from the last 7 days; Core and up keep 30 days. Older rows show Restore versions older than 7 days with Core.
Some versions say "From before version history".
Those publishes happened before Dotsy started recording versions, so they can't be restored.
How do I avoid needing this?
On plans with staging, use Review changes to check every edit, side by side with the live page, before it goes live. See Review changes.
Can my AI agent undo a publish?
Yes, if its access level allows publishing. Ask it to undo the last publish or restore a version from a given date; it uses the list_versions, restore_version and undo_publish tools.
